How The Tile Reads

Tile floors and feature walls in any pattern you can imagine.

Large-format tile shows every flaw underneath it. A quarter inch of dip across ten feet vanishes under a mosaic and turns into a visible edge under a 24 by 48 slab.

Floors get meticulously checked for flatness and prepared as needed before anything is set. Big tile then gets a large-format mortar, a half-inch notch, and a back-butter on every piece, because poor coverage is how large tile cracks.

Four Stages,
Run In The Same Order

Check and level
The existing floor is meticulously checked for flatness and prepared as needed to bring it into plane before tile is set.
Set the layout
The pattern is centered on the room’s main sightline and dry-laid before a single cut, so full tiles or grout joints land exactly where you want them to land. We do our best to prevent unsightly cuts.
Set and back-butter
Full coverage under every piece, checked as we go. Patterns like herringbone are run off a snapped line, not off the last tile.
Grout and transitions
Grout color is chosen against your actual tile in the room’s own light. Edges and transitions are caulked with 100% silicone caulk and detailed, and you give us the green light before we pack up.
